Watch Live Results of Telugu States’ Assembly and General Elections on May 23rd on YuppTV

Assembly Elections in Andhra Pradesh took place on April 11th, 2019. Andhra Pradesh Election has been the talk of both Telugu states and the National media for quite some time. The entry of Tollywood Actor Pawan Kalyan into Politics, the long-running opposition leader YS Jagan’s rigorous campaigning and many accusations of current Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu’s service in the last five years have made any kind of prediction impractical. The fact that Assembly Elections are going to impact results of General Elections is another reason why the state’s elections have gained the attention of national media.

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections 2019 was a close competition between Chandra Babu Naidu led Telugu Desam Party and YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP. National Parties Congress has no leg to stand on in Andhra Pradesh since the separation formation of YSRCP by YS Jagan and BJP was weak in the Southern states since forever. The BJP- TDP alliance had earned BJP 4 seats in the 2014 elections and it is highly unlikely that the party will earn any more since TDP called off its alliance with BJP before the 2019 elections.

The entry of Actor Pawan Kalyan was surmised as a massive one and his Jana Sena Party (JSP) was expected to become a deciding factor in the 2019 elections. JSP is in alliance with CPI and CPI (M). The party had contested in 140 seats in the 2019 elections while all the major parties TDP, YSRCP, INC, and BJP have contested in 175 seats. While the fate of National parties is expected to be the same, the answer to the question of who is going to be the next CM of Andhra Pradesh will be a tough one and one must wait for the results to be announced on 23rd of May 2019.

General Elections in Andhra Pradesh had happened along with the Assembly Elections on April 11th. While the national parties have no significant support in the state, it is highly likely that the 25 MP seats will be shared by the major parties TDP and YSRCP that had earned 16 and 7 seats respectively in 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.  BJP had earned 2 seats in previous elections and its fate is still uncertain in this year’s elections.

Telangana Assembly Elections were scheduled in December 2018 as the government in service had dissolved the assembly and requested for an early election. The major party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) that had formed the government in the term before had earned massive majority once again. K Chandrasekhara Rao, the former Chief Minister of Telangana state had retained his chair once again with 88 seats of 119. Among the other major parties, INC had won 19 seats, TDP 2, BJP 1, and AIFB 1. AIMIM that is in alliance with TRS had retained all 7 seats again.

The Lok Sabha Elections in Telangana state happened on April 11th in the first phase of General Elections. The state has 17 seats of which TRS- AIMIM alliance holds 12, INC holds 2, and BJP holds 1. The TRS party is confident in its retention of all the previous constituencies and more but results might surprise us.
